Bruce Does the Dead

From his high-school band, to an opening act, to a part-time member and throughout his own career, Bruce Hornsby has always played the music of the Grateful Dead. His 1995 “Hot House” record contains the last recorded work of Jerry Garcia, and this November he’s touring once again with Bob Weir. Throw in years of Furthur Festivals and the Other Ones, and Bruce has never been far away from the Dead.

Bruce Does the Dead

As part of the 20 Days of Bruce project, we’re mainly concentrating on sharing Bruce’s residency at Yoshi’s in 1998, marking the first time that all twenty shows will be available in their entirety in one place to download. Today we’re giving you some bonus material to say a big thank you for donating over $1,000 so far to our project’s nominated causes.

Please enjoy almost three hours of music from the Grateful Dead, covered by Bruce Hornsby and featuring guests including Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, R.S. Hornsby and Branford Marsalis.

Grab your extra downloads, take a look around the rest of the site for some terrific shows, and please consider a contribution to three wonderful charitable causes. THe donation pages remain open indefinitely:

  • Use FirstGiving to donate to the ALS Association (DC, MC and VA Chapter)
  • Use JustGiving to donate to the Merlin Centre for Multiple Sclerosis care
  • Use the Paypal button (front page of this site, on the right of the page) for your choice of cause or TWLOHA mental health charity
