This concert was sold out, Bruce and his band were awesome. John D'Earth and Bobby Read , both local talents of Charlottesville and Albemarle Co. were featured in the concert. The venue was very warm and some people found it very uncomfortable. I think the heat caused a lot ofpeople to get up and walk out or to get fresh air. It was very distracting unless one could just ignore the movement of people.

There was dancing in the aisles, Bruce invited people on stage, but no one took him up on it. I was far back and wanted to watch the show so I didn't go on the stage.

Bruce played a new version of the Way It Is, he also played Western Skies, I had last recalled hearing that song at Merriweather Post in 1997. It was a concert full of energy and massive talent to back Bruce up. Bruce and his band really improvised and made it a spirited happening. He had not been in Charlottesville to perform for over 12 years. He had played for a basketball promotion at UVA two years ago..

Bruce also did a signing a local record/CD store the night before the sold out concert. I think that the audience should have been more respectful as Bruce noted in a comment about the concert, there was a great deal of talking after the intermission. I think that people have forgotten the purpose of a concert. I am an avid fan and respect Bruce Hornsby. He is a true gem.
