Humble apologies for not having known the line-up for Warren Haynes’ 2014 Pre-Jam (mostly invitational for WNCW supporters) before the 26th annual Christmas Jam for Habitat for Humanity, lest I would have pimped this tradition before the fact! WNCW replayed the Dec 12th P-J last night and now it is lost (for legal reasons) forever except to the stream-scrubbers and Youtube. I hope Bill Kreutzmann will do something else with Billy and the Kids, who cranked out a non-stop Cassidy>The Other One>Scarlet Begonias>Cassidy jam. That followed Jason Isbell and a great set by the Revivalists. Also covers of The Way It Is and the Boys of Summer by Love Cannon, a Charlottesville bluegrass band with much talent. As usual, I fell asleep before Gov’t Mule finished the show (which is my excuse for not going to NO LA for Dead Feet April 24/25…see Kreutzmann’s gigs). I know everyone has radio/webfeeds they love, but I’ve found so many alt-anything artists (but had to search myself for an ibiblio feed for Linux, and Tune-in for Droid just to use my menagerie of devices) at WNCW.org and the Jams have raised $1.8 million for Habitat in 26 years. And now, Bruce announced at Biltmore that he will be back in Asheville for the 2015 Warren Haynes show!
