Well! This was a great show. Finally glad to have 2 sets of Bruce!
Preacher was wonderful to hear. I really love the intensity of Preacher II (as opposed to the high energy of Preacher I). The combining of Women R Smarter and Pete & Manny was really interesting. He was singing the lyrics to Pete and Manny in the tempo and rhythm of Women R. It was very cool.
JV played an incredible solo during Great Divide.. really had me going crazy! Bonney got to play a few nice song starting solos.... Really nice playing by everyone tonight (like I expected anything less?)
Barren Ground to start the Encore was so beautiful. He didn't play the whole song, sort of a chorus and bits of the verses... we will have to get a request in for the whole song.
Mandolin was lovely and Black Muddy River almost brought me to tears, as it always does.
I felt that the show started a bit slow, the crowd seemed way mellow, but it picked up pretty quickly. I think Ann Marie and I were the only 2 people dancing for much of the show. Then I found Sue from Baltimore and we three danced together.
I got to introduce my Dad to Bruce, JV and Bonney tonight after the show, so that was a treat for me. JV sat and chit-chatted with us for a good long time while Bruce was talking to some other people
I think the show at the Pines was the best, musically, so far. But the Portland show had the highest crowd energy, for sure, and tonight was nice for me because I got to share with my dad...and that was fun.
Thanks again Elyce!
