John Paris

John Paris was born in Trenton, New Jersey, into a musically inclined family. His mother was a jazz singer, and his father was a big band leader and singer. Paris was drawn to the drums from an early age, inspired by a family full of musicians.

Throughout his career, John Paris has recorded and toured with a diverse range of artists, including Whitney Houston, Bob Dylan, Patti LaBelle, Philip Bailey, Verdine White, Jimmy Cliff, and Sheila E. He has also collaborated with artists like Kelly Clarkson, Stephanie Mills, Bruce Hornsby, and Meghan Trainor. Joining Earth, Wind & Fire

In 2001, John Paris Earth, Wind & Fire as their drummer. Back 2 Basics and other projects

In addition to his work with Earth, Wind & Fire, John Paris co-founded the American music duo Back 2 Basics with Eddie Mininfield. The duo’s music blends smooth jazz, soul, R&B, and pop, showcasing Paris’s wide-ranging influences. He also released the indie project *Gruvdisciples*, with his song “Move It On” produced by Loud Sunday Music.
