Bruce Hornsby has been hugely influential in my music, I was just always into his sound from way back in the scenes from the southside days. It’s not country, it’s not rock, it’s not jazz – it’s definately something unique to Bruce.
We picked The Way It Is purely because we’ve been gigging this track this way for a while now – we also do Fortunate Son but that would be faaaar too long for a compilation album, especially with the pink floyd break out. This was probably the first Bruce track I ever heard.
