My Name is Noah WIlker,. And I live and work in New York City. I have a normal 9 to 5 day job, however I have been playing guitar for over 20 years, and I am a working musician, writing my own music and playing shows wherever I can whenever I can.
When I was 6 years old my parents found out I was slowly losing my vision. They started me on playing guitar, with the hopes that when I do lose my sight, I will always have something I can do that does not require me to see. As I grew older I had the normal guitar based musical influences, however when I was about 19 I got my hands on a Solo Hornsby show, and I have been hooked ever since. The way he writes, and the songs he writes have influenced me so much over the ten years. He has become one of my main influences as a musician, and I feel my focus on how to write a song lyrically and musically has changed quite a bit because of listening to him.
I picked this song, because It has always been my favorite one to be honest. I must have heard dozens of different versions of the song, and every time I hear it it always paints a picture in my mind. A great song will make you think, and a great story will make you picture it in you head as it is told. This song does both for me. It is just a phenomenal example of Bruce Hornsby’s ability to tell the most vivid and amazing stories through his music.
