My name is Oskar Kollen. 26 years old from Tahoe City, CA. I currently work as a ski tech at a local shop in Bellingham, WA. and play keyboards for a band called ‘Acorn Project’.
Bruce Hornsby has influenced me in a major way. His ability to write great songs with a story-like narrative and being able to take his music to new places night after night is impressive. His virtuosity on the piano blows me away and his voice is able to draw you in very intensely. Add that with originality, soul, humor, and strong song writing and you have something great.
Night on the Town is a song I loved from the first time I heard it. I was given a show w/ Bruce doin’ the solo thing and heard that particular version played in a different key w/ a mellow feel and great improv section. The pre-chorus bridge alone makes that song worth playing over and over again
