Bruce Hornsby’s “Factory Girl” – the song that doesn’t exist

Ever heard Bruce Hornsby’s Factory Girl? Neither had he.

If you’re here already, you probably already know of Bruce and the band’s gift for improvisation. Playing “music in the moment”, whether that be an impromptu guitar solo, a new lyric or a spur-of-the-moment, reinvented bridge.

In August 1996, in Hampton Beach’s Casino in New Hampshire, Bruce took that to a whole new level.

Based on a called-out request for a song that he’d either misheard (or never heard of)… he decided to play it anyway!

And so the mysterious  “Factory Girl” song got its one and only appearance on a Bruce Hornsby setlist. And you can download it below – the song that doesn’t exist!
