Absolute Zero marks Bruce Hornsby’s first studio album in three years. The songs touch on issues such as technology, human connection, and the passage of time. The title track, “Absolute Zero,” contemplates the possibility of evading death through cryonics, examining the scientific hope of preservation and the existential doubts about what it truly means to be frozen in time.
Collaboration and production
Bruce collaborated with a diverse group of musicians on this album, including his longtime band, the Noisemakers, as well as guest artists such as James Mercer of The Shins and Justin Vernon of Bon Iver.
